Static Images and CSS Files Not Showing in IIS 7, 7.5, or 8

One of my recent deployment to IIS I noticed that images, css and fonts are missing and the console is showing an error "Failed to decode downloaded font". After a some research I realized that the IIS setting need to modify. I did the following and ithe issue got resolved. 1. Open control pannel. 2. Go to programs and features 3. Click on Turn windows features onn or off 4. Navigate to Internet information server >> world wide web services >> Common HTTP features 5. Make sure that the Static Content is checked. 6. Click OK, on the bottom. 7. Restart IIS.
