Organization devoted to the people of Midlands in South Carolina, who have interest in Tamil Language and Culture. The South Carolina Tamil Sangam (SCTS) started as an informal gathering of people from India, who speak Tamil language. South Carolina Tamil Sangam preserve, maintain, and perpetuate the cultural heritage of the people of Tamil origin in Midlands South Carolina. Tamil Sangam organize periodic Tamil literary and educational meetings/gatherings to promote the local talent as well as to invite the distinguished Tamil scholars and artists to South Carolina for close interaction with the people of South Carolina. Also, this organization collaborates with other organizations of Tamil literary, cultural, and educational activities. Teach Tamil language to the younger generation who has interest in the language. Organize and support local charities as a group.
